This handsome boy is Kato, he is a very lovely 7 year old lab mix boy looking for his forever home. He is very well mannered, well trained, and likes the laid back life. Kato is nervous around other dogs, he tries to run away when he sees one, so he would prefer an adult only home with no other pets including cats and no children under 12 please. Kato is not a "dog park" or day care type of dog, he wants to just hang out with his people and just chill. It does take some time for him to warm up to you, but once he does, he will be your best friend forever. He does need training on leash walking too.
We know there is a family out there with no other pets who can give this boy his forever home, and Kato is waiting for you
INDYIndy is an adorable 9-year-old American Eskimo. He is snugly and happy and eager to please. He loves to snuggle on the couch next to his humans. He is very good around the foster's 4 other dogs, and it would benefit him to have other dogs around to teach him manners and limits. Indy has dry eye and is on cyclosporine for that.
Indy has had some issues around being very saucy when asked to do something he doesn't want to do. His fosters have been working hard on correcting this behaviour, and his potential adopters would have to commit to being firm and not backing down. He has gotten away with this behaviour because he's so darn cute, but he will respond to a very firm, assertive correction. He loves to eat and does respond to positive reinforcement when he's being good (which is most of the time). He needs a confident, experienced owner, and because he can be saucy, he absolutely can not go to a family with children. He really does want to be a good boy, and has the sweetest disposition. He walks well on his leash. He has not been around cats. He is an absolute doll and will be a perfect companion dog for someone who has lots of love to give him.

Litters 'n Critters Rescue Society is a 100% volunteer all-breed dog rescue. We are a registered society and a not-for-profit rescue that was formed on April 17, 2007, and is dedicated solely to the well being of dogs of any breed or size. We place the welfare of the pets that come into our rescue first and foremost.
We are an independent, self-governed animal rescue organization, with a board of directors and volunteers located across Nova Scotia. We do not have a shelter or a physical address as we rely solely on the fostering process.
There are many different approaches to rescue, but the universal thread that connects all rescuers is their love and passion for animals. Please help save a life by adopting a rescued animal.

Please Consider Donating
Litters 'n Critters relies on the donations of animal lovers to operate. We do not receive grants or government funding so our only means of raising money is through fundraising and private donations. All money raised goes directly to help the dogs in our care.
